BCPA Life Member and former President Ian McDougall passed away on October 11, 2017.
Ian was the long serving Pipe Major of the competitively successful Abbotsford Legion Pipe Band, prize winning Open piper, adjudicator, and respected teacher of young pipers and juvenile bands in the Fraser Valley. He dedicated many years to the promotion and advancement of the Legion Highland Games.
He shaped the early musical foundations of BC pipers who would go on to capture Gold and Silver Medals and lead a band to the Grade 1 World Pipe Band Championship.
The Association extends its sincere sympathies to the extended McDougall family in this time of sorrow.
