Annual Gathering

What: The BC Pipers Association Annual Gathering (also known as the “Indoor Meet”) is held on the Friday and Saturday of the Easter long weekend. The Friday features solo piobaireachd and Open drumming competitions, as well as drumming workshops. Saturday events are the remaining solo events, a full band competition, and the Ceilidh afterward including performances by the solo aggregate winners. Information about the 2022 annual Gathering will be posed here.

The 2021 BCPA Annual Gathering was held online only for solo events. 

Players entered the Annual Gathering through the BCPA Registration Site, then recorded and uploaded their performances to YouTube during the defined period,. Players then completed a form with music details and YouTube link and submitted.

2021 Annual Gathering Ceilidh (stay tuned for details about 2022 Ceilidh)

The 2021 BCPA Annual Gathering Ceilidh,  Saturday April 17.  The event will feature local performers, pipers, singers, possible prizes, recognition of piping & drumming families, and the 88th Annual Gathering awards.  The event starts at 7:00pm PST. Pre-registration through tickets will be available in March 2021.

The BC Pipers’ Association is pleased to acknowledge
the financial assistance of the Province of British Columbia.
Note: to add multiple competitors on a single registration, use the “add guest” button near the bottom. More info is in the events help page on the registration site if needed.
Please note that all competition entries and their payments shall be done online for all competitions administered, managed and run by BCPA.

Several bank gift cards, in Canada and the US, can be accepted by the BCPA’s online entry system. This method may be used by people who do not want to use their personal credit cards for online transactions and by pipe bands. A partial list of these bank gift cards is contained in the Information Document associated with the Annual Gathering online entry form.


2020 Band Contest Admission Tickets

The “early bird” priced tickets for the 2020 BCPA Annual Gathering Band Contest are available for purchase until April 7 here.

Early Bird ticket prices are in the following table. Prices at the door will be higher. Cash and credit cards will be accepted for admission purchases and purchases at the Ceilidh.

2020 Interactive Demonstrations of Piping and Drumming
The 2020 Annual Gathering will include interactive demonstrations of piping and drumming for youth and adults interested in learning the instruments on the Saturday from 12 noon to 1 pm. A great way to become engaged in a very fulfilling passion.
2020 Senior Adjudicator Drumming Workshops
The Senior Drumming Adjudicator will conduct workshops for snare drummers on Friday, April 10 at the Annual Gathering venue. Admission is free however registration is required. For details please see page 2 of the 2020 BCPA Annual Gathering Info Guide which can be found here.
2020 Drum Majors Workshop
A Drum Majors workshop will be conducted on Friday, April 10 at the Annual Gathering venue. Admission is free however registration is required. For details please see page 2 of the 2020 BCPA Annual Gathering Info Guide which can be found here.
2020 BCPA “After Hours” Ceilidh
The BCPA “After Hours” Ceilidh begins at the Annual Gathering venue immediately after the Saturday band contest and awards presentation. FREE admission.
