RSCDS Hosts Luke Brady Concert Sunday, March 18

BCPA would like to notify our members of this upcoming Vancouver event given the interest in Scottish country dance music among many of our members.

The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS) is bringing well-known accordion players over from Scotland in about 10 days time and one of them, Luke Brady, is scheduled to put on a concert on Sunday March 18th. I stress that the concert will not be all Scottish Country Dance tunes but will be a wide variety of tunes with the majority having a Scottish flavour.

Luke Brady Concert in Holy Trinity Anglican Church at West 12th Ave. and Hemlock St. (one block off Granville Street) at 3 p.m. on Sunday 19th March – $20.

Luke Brady is a skilled and versatile young Scottish accordionist and keyboarder. Growing up with Scottish music, he began playing for a dance class at age 15. Luke’s band has issued five CDs with a blend of traditional and modern tunes, many composed by Luke himself. He is a full-time musician, playing for different forms of dance including ballet. Luke travels with his band to events throughout the UK and beyond. Luke’s concerts highlight musicians who have inspired him and reflect events and travels in his life as a musician. Dancers and non-dancers alike love listening to Luke’s variety of music genres and styles as well as his lively Scottish tunes. Tickets available online at www.rscdsvancouver.org/calendar-events/ or at the door while they last.
