Ron MacLeod, Officer of the Order of Canada and Life Member of the BC Pipers’ Association passed away on January 15, 2015.
He was one of the founding members of the Piobaireachd Club and he made a great contribution to piping in BC through his compilation of piobaireachd histories. He was a strong supporter and promoter of Scottish culture in the Greater Vancouver area and was one of the community founders of the Centre for Scottish Studies at Simon Fraser University. In 2000, he received the Chancellor”s Distinguished Service Award for service to Simon Fraser University.
A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, February 27, 1:00 pm at Morgan Creek Golf Course, 3500 Morgan Creek Way, Surrey, BC V3Z 0J7.
