Local BCPA Pipers Play at Vigil for Humboldt Broncos Bus Crash

The sport of hockey is synonymous with being Canadian. The tragedy of the bus crash involving the Humboldt Broncos Junior A Hockey team has touched communities far and wide – in Canada, the US and around the world.

Port Coquitlam residents Pipe Major David Hilder and Pipe Sergeant Shaunna Hilder of the Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band say they were honoured to take part in the vigil, held at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex in Coquitlam on Thursday April 12, for the victims of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash.

BCPA President Rob MacNeil indicates “It is at times like these that our music plays a significant role in bringing comfort to those who are saddened and grieving, and it is important to inform the piping and drumming community of players who make such contributions and to thank them for their service.”
