Cedar Hills Caledonian Recruiting for Upcoming 2021 Season

CHCPB CrestThe Cedar Hills Caledonian Pipe Band, a member pipe band of the BCPA, is located in North Surrey and have been performing in the Lower Mainland and surrounding region for the last 18 years. They continue to expand their interests and have invited members from other community pipe bands that do not take part in competitions and who are looking for a challenge to join them for solos and pipe band competitions throughout the season (with the exception of Skagit, Portland and Campbell River).

Cedar Hills Caledonian is looking for pipers and drummers (tenors and sides) of all experience levels who are interested in trying solo competition or coming back to play in a relaxed Grade 5/4 competitions with the spirit of the games and friendship, along with other high profile performances throughout the lower mainland with such events as BC Lions Half Time Salute to Veterans, Surrey’s Canada Day and the Surrey Fusion Festival along with many parades, festivals and events in the region.

Cedar Hills Caledonian continues to work on player development with their Learning Program that focuses on teaching adults wishing to learn and encourage players at all levels to take advantage of their support and educational development while attending Piping Hot Summer Drummer with financial support from the CHCPB Society for its members.

Cedar Hills Caledonian’s continuing goals of competition and contributing to community events have remained strong over the past 18 years. They are inviting interested pipers and drummers to attend practices once they resume and are welcome to sit in on our zoom meetings and meet our members until such a time.

Cedar Hills Caledonian regularly practices on Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm in North Surrey and on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am till 11:00 am every other Saturday during competition season in Abbotsford and Surrey. Their music includes a selection of typical massed band tunes, a selection of competition tunes for Grade 5 – 2/4 March event, and Grade 4 – MSR and Medley events along with material suitable for a Grade 5/4 performance pipe band.
