Members of the Saanich Peninsula Pipe Band have started a “Balcony Pipes & Drums” initiative from their homes, similar to the quarantined balcony singers in Italy that have appeared in the news.
They are encouraging pipers and drummers across British Columbia & the Pacific Coast to follow their lead by playing on their front porch, backyard deck, or balcony outside their homes each evening at 6 pm. Players might find that their neighbours join in.
This initiative is to help lift spirits as well as thank health care workers, grocery store employees, and others providing necessary services during this difficult time.
Follow the lead of the Saanich Peninsula Pipe Band, dust off your pipes and drums and keep them in playing shape!
