Zephan Knichel – CPA Combined B&C Grade Piobaireachd winner – 2018 Annual Gathering
BCPA has been informed by the Competing Pipers Association (CPA) that the CPA Graded Piobaireachd event at the BC spring Annual Gathering has been included in the CPA’s proposed qualifying competitions for the Silver Medal at the Argyllshire Gathering and the Northern Meeting.
The CPA’s proposed qualifying system will be presented to the Joint Committee for Solo Piping Competitions for approval.
Andrew Bonar – 2010 Northern Meeting Silver Medal Winner, 2nd “A” MSR, 2nd “A” Hornpipe & Jig
The late BCPA Life Member and 2010 Northern Meeting Silver Medalist Andrew Bonar created the CPA Graded Piobaireachd event at the Annual Gathering with the support of the CPA to assist pipers in developing their competitive track records for recognition in Scotland. For many years, Andrew donated funds toward the event’s prize monies.
Darleen Miharija – 1987 Northern Meeting Silver Medal winner
Derek Milloy further supported the event by creating the Darleen Milloy Memorial trophy, in memory of his late wife Darleen (nee Miharija) Milloy who won the Northern Meeting Silver Medal in 1987.
BCPA gratefully thanks the CPA for their recognition of the Annual Gathering and the efforts and memories of Andrew Bonar and Darleen Milloy and looks forward to the Joint Committee for Solo Piping’s decision.
