BCPA Life Member and respected piping teacher Jimmy Wilson passed away on the morning of September 23, 2016.

He taught hundreds of students over decades, mainly through the Richmond Pipe Bands he ran, and it was through his dedicated foundational teaching efforts that many players rose to become world champions in the Simon Fraser University and Robert Malcolm Memorial pipe bands.

One of his pupils, who he taught as a beginner through to a talented amateur player, was BCPA Life Member Bruce Woodley who won the Northern Meeting Gold Medal in 1993.

For his tremendous service to the teaching of piping, Jimmy was made a BCPA Life Member in 1986.

More information on life of Jimmy Wilson will be posted in the days to come and further details on a celebration of his life will be announced soon.

The Association extends our sincere condolences to the extended Wilson Family.
