The passing of Pipe Major Albert Duncan CD – Update

Pipe Major Albert DuncanPipe Major Albert Duncan, CD, passed away on March 30, 2016.

He contributed his talents to piping and pipe bands in BC in so many ways, among them: the third Pipe Major of the storied Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Pipes & Drums, winner of the MacCrimmon Memorial Cairn at the Annual Gathering, President and long time Director of the BC Pipers Association, President of the Western Pipe Band Association, adjudicator, and an early instructor of the Optimist Junior Pipe Band (which would become the White Spot Pipe Band).

A Celebration of Life will take place on April 16, 2016 from 2 – 4 p.m. at:

Burnaby, BC

Bring your pipes / drums as a massed bands will conclude the celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion or the Kidney Foundation of Canada – see more at:
