James P. Troy won the inaugural Boney Music Invitational Competition Recital that was held in the evening of February 13, 2016 at the Halpern Centre of Simon Fraser University’s Burnaby campus in front of an audience of over 100 attendees.

Alastair Lee placed second with Jori Chisholm, Andrew Lee, and Brittney Otto also competing in the event.

The event, sponsored by Andrew Bonar, was a fund raiser for brain cancer research at the BC Cancer Foundation and saw over $900 raised for the cause.

Andrew Bonar was presented with a plaque from the BC Cancer Foundation for his efforts in cancer research fundraising.

The BC Pipers’ Association donated to the event by providing the rooms and parking for free (as they were secured for the day for the BCPA Special General Meeting that preceded it) and enabling people to provide a charitable donation to BCPA which will be forwarded to the BC Cancer Foundation.
