Over the next several months, BCPA will highlight the activities of performance bands, those bands which do not compete or do not regularly compete but significantly promote piping and drumming in the general community with their many performances in parades, festivals, and community events.
The performances of the Vancouver Police Pipe Band, the J.P. Fell Pipe Band, and the British Columbia Regiment Irish Pipes and Drums at the BC Highland Games and Scottish Festival this year were a great addition to the entertainment spectrum and yielded significant crowd appreciation.
This series begins with an article provided by the Cedar Hills Caledonian Pipe Band of Surrey, BC on their teaching program for adults and children.
