In memory of Lillian Reid, March 11, 1919 – October 18, 2012

Lillian Reid passed away on Thursday, October 18th in Comox, BC.  She was the widow of Alex Reid, who predeceased her in 1982.  She was the loving mother of Sheila, Jim, Sandy, and Mary-Ann.  Lillian is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Lillian’s husband, Alex, was a well-known piper and teacher in Vancouver, and a long-time member of the BCPA. He was a respected piping judge throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Sheila was a member of The Vancouver Ladies’ Pipe Band; Jim and Sandy were members of the Optimist and Seaforth Cadet Pipe Bands. Sandy was also a member of the Port Moody Pipe Band and continues to be involved in piping and teaching piping in the Comox Valley.  Sandy’s son, Cameron, currently drums with Dowco Triumph Street Pipe Band and volunteers as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the BCPA.

A Memorial Service will be held at Comox United Church at 2 pm on Saturday, November 24th. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be welcome as expressions of sympathy.
